SKATING LESSON TERMS AND CONDITIONS / FAQs

Are there ID requirements on age specific lessons?

For lessons that specify an age group please bring proof of ID with photograph and date of birth in case requested.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Please check out our Locations page for more information

What must I bring to the event?

  • Unless the event specifies skate hire you are required to bring your own skates. Skates should be in good condition and have wheels that spin at least once when pushed once with hand. Most retailers provide skate tool with new skates so please bring these to the lesson if your wheels are not rolling as above. No tools? Give us a call to let us know. We do have a limited range of tools availiable for use on the day.
  • Please bring all safety equipment including Knee Pads, Wrist Guards, Elbow Pads and Helmet (Helmet and elbow pads strongly advised but not compulsory. See below for more details).
  • Please ensure you bring water or any other refreshments for the period of your lesson and food if you are doing a long course. Courses lasting 1.5 hours or more will include at least one break for refreshments.

Health and Safety

Please alert your instructor to any injuries or medical conditions that may impede your ability to skate prior to any lesson start. Failure to do so means you have agreed to undertake the lesson at your own risk.

Your participation in the lesson will be forfeited if you do not have the necessary compulsory safety equipment i.e. Skates in good condition, Knee Pads and Wrist Guards.

London Skate Crew strongly advises the wearing of a helmet at all times whilst skating. A student's decision not to wear a helmet is undertaken at their own risk. Any injury resulting from not wearing a safety helmet is the responsibility of the student. London Skate Crew and their partners will not be held accountable in the event of any injury resulting from this decision.

If you are in any doubt about what to bring, contact us. Remember, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Cancellation and the weather

Due to the nature of the British weather, if lessons are scheduled to take place outdoors then a WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY is in place. Your instructor will endeavour to contact all students at least one hour prior to the lesson taking place to cancel / reschedule the session if they believe skating conditions are not suitable for the level of lesson. Examples of this include: rain, wet or greasy floors, wind, events that may impact on availiability of space etc.

In the event that a lesson needs to be cancelled upon arrival due to any of the above unforeseen conditions students will be refunded for the lesson or the session rescheduled.

In the event of cancellation halfway through a lesson, e.g. unforeseen rain, students will be charged for the percentage of the lesson undertaken and a refund given for the rest or this time added to the next session.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

You can contact the organiser at lorraine@londonskatecrew.com or you can find contact details here.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, you will need to bring your printed ticket

Cancellation and Refund Policy

London Skate Crew cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to the start time of the lesson. In this instance a refund will be given. In addition if you do have to cancel within the 24 hour period and all places are taken on the event, London Skate Crew will refund your fee.

Block Bookings: Special Offers

London Skate Crew offers a block booking discount scheme for private lessons where a student can pay for four lessons upfront and get a fifth for free. Please note London Skate Crew advises that all lessons should be taken within a three month period unless previously agreed in writing with your instructor. Given the nature of the weather etc we do operate a flexible system here so please discuss this with us if you have any concerns. Our aim is to ensure you do take all of your sessions but we also recognise that this offer cannot carry over for years.
